My name’s Adam.
A little while ago my partner, Will, and I did what many sensible people spend years talking themselves out of. We packed our lives into a 2006 Toyota Hiace, pointed it at the horizon and drove away.
People often assume van life is all turquoise beaches, perfectly brewed coffee and waking to spectacular sunrises. It can be those things. It can also be trying to find a public toilet at six in the morning, discovering your power steering has chosen retirement in the middle of western Queensland, or learning that red dirt has a remarkable ability to infiltrate places you didn’t realise existed.
This website is where I write about all of it.
Not just the destinations, but the strange little moments that happen between them. The conversations with locals in tiny pubs. The caravan parks full of retirees who’ve somehow mastered reversing a twenty-four-foot caravan in one attempt. The free camps where complete strangers become neighbours for a night before disappearing forever down another stretch of highway.
I’ve always believed travel is less about landmarks than people. The places are simply where the stories happen.
So you’ll find road trips, campground reviews, outback towns, photography, mechanical disasters, cheap meals cooked on a camping stove and the occasional life lesson that arrives disguised as a flat tyre.
If you’re looking for a guide on how to become an influencer, you’ve probably taken a wrong turn.
